A roundtable discussion by Ungku Aziz Centre, UM in collaboration with Unit for Social Issues and Development Advocacy and Research, HUM.
Child poverty has not received the policy attention it deserves, and the issue is largely understudied.
This discussion is held to address this issue in conjunction with World Children's Day this month.
Here we have representatives from government agencies, such as the Ministry of Economics, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women, family and Community Development, and the Ministry of Education as well as researchers and representatives from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that work with youths and children in poverty.
This roundtable discussion aims to recommend developing comprehensive policies that address the multidimensional nature of child poverty in Malaysia and to design programs catered to children.
We are honoured to be invited as the panelists and to expound our personalised approach and innovation that have helped our work in understanding more about children poverty.
